The final track of Part II is dedicated to Action for Children. Previously known as the National Children’s Home, this charity ran the orphanage in Whitby, Yorkshire, that took in my grandad, Lawrence Kidd, in the 1920s.
Track 9: For Love, Labour, Loss, weaves some of my memories of Lawrence together - a mixture of nostalgia, joy and sadness on his passing. The song features two amazing instrumentalists: Laetitia Stott as melodious French Horn and Stephanie Oatridge as lyrical Oboe.
